Betaling met PayPAl

Ik heb enkele items te koop aangeboden via verschillende verkoopsites.
Op één van die artikelen heeft een Engelsman positief gereageerd en via mailverkeer wil hij de koop (en de afhaling) van dat artikel afhandelen.
De betaling zou gebeuren via een PayPal account, tot dusver geen probleem.

In zijn laatste mail maakt hij echter melding van een 'extra betaling' voor de 'Shipping Company' ! (zie quote)

I am sure you have all my name and address for all documentations regarding the item, and all other documentations should be prepared by my Pick Up Agent. You should send the money soon so that the Pick Up would be scheduled and you would know when the Pick Up would commence, make sure you're home. I advice you to check both your inbox or junk/spam folder for the payment confirmation message.
So just make sure you send the extra amount to the Shipping Company right away so that you can get your money immediately. It's Nice Doing Business With You. Get to mail me back soon with your address.

Ik heb nog geen 'betaling' ontvangen tot nu toe.
Ik ben een beetje achterdochtig geworden en daarmee ook voorzichtig in het 'klakkeloos' aannemen van zo'n transacties.
Heeft er iemand ervaring met zo'n zaken die mij op weg kan helpen wat ik nu mag/moet doen of juist niet?

Smells like a rat... vooral omdat "Western Union" ermee betrokken is.

Zolang je geen gegarandeerde storting ziet op je paypal account dit vriendelijk melden aan de koper.

Vrijwel zeker oplichting. Waarom een zeer verdacht bedrijf als Western Union gebruiken als jullie beiden Paypal hebben? Ik zou eens rondsnufffelen op de forums van Ebay.

inderdaad, waar je ook gaat of staat wordt steeds verwittigd nooit via Western Union te werken!!

Met paypal hebben wijzelf (dagelijks ca. 3 -5betalingen) nog nooit problemen gehad en het geld staat er meestal snel op. Ik begrijp ook niet waarom die extra betaling buiten paypal om zou moeten gebeuren (tenzij misschien omwille van de extra paypal-kosten die er bij komen, maar in ruil daarvoor geniet je toch meer zekerheid bij paypal dan bij die dubieuze firma's)

Ik weet niet wat voor soort klant dit is, maar zijn 'tekst' hierboven maakt mij sowieso achterdochtig: iets té proper en té dikwijls uitnodigend tot betaling. Klanten antwoorden meestal kort en bondig zonder herhaling.

Het is net omdat mij dit zeer verdacht overkwam dat ik dit eens wilde aankaarten.

Intussen heb ik contact met PayPal gehad en advies gekregen om niets te ondernemen en af te wachten. Ik heb de betreffende mails doorgestuurd zodat deze kunnen onderzocht en opgevolgd worden.

Lees de ebay fora eens na over hoe gemakkelijk het is om PayPal betalingen ongedaan te maken. Dit geldt zeker voor geld dat niet bij de normale transactie hoort (prijs van het item + verzendkosten die de verkoper bepaald heeft).

Wees er dus maar zeker van dat die 800€ gaan worden teruggeclaimd, en jij kunt niets voorleggen aan PayPal die die 800€ rechtvaardigd.

Je kan altijd je PayPal account afsluiten en doen alsof je niks weet van 800€.

Google eens op "advance fee fraud", dat is precies wat ze met u trachten uit te halen. NOOIT betaling via Western Union aanvaarden. Jammer dat de koop dan niet doorgaat, maar als je hierop ingaat wordt je geript.
